Welcome!

We are both super excited to have our Back to the Real World website and blog up and functioning! We thought we'd better inform you of who we are and what we are about.

Cam (27) and myself, Bree, (21) are two young Australians who decided that we would like to share our passion for the outdoors with as many people as possible. Through these platforms we hope to share not only our passion, but also our knowledge on all the things that make us excited and interest us; with the hope of inspiring others to go outdoors and maybe even experience somewhere new!

The title of our site 'Back to the Real World' came about on one of our first trips together at the Grampians National Park (VIC). Whilst sitting in amongst the gums at our simple but beautiful campsite, Cam calmly looked around, saying "It is so lovely to get back to the real world". This moment and those words stuck with me, and when discussing the name of our page we decided that they represented how we both felt about outdoor spaces.

We both feel that getting out into natural spaces can provide relaxation; be it your garden, a local park or a wilderness area. For us, it helps to separate ourselves from the stresses we find in our lives,

helping us to refocus on what is important. There will be web posts about our bigger expeditions with details on gear lists, menus and route plans, as well as post about our daily adventures close to home.

With the two of us thoroughly enjoying time outdoors, we have both chosen to do this as part of our careers. I completed the Bachelor in Outdoor and Environmental Education at Latrobe University in 2016 and Cam is currently studying the same course here in Bendigo. We endeavor to write blog posts about the things that we have learnt from our experience in this fantastic course, as well as our learning from our professional practice, personal findings and experiences.

The intention of this website is allow us to document our trips and learning as well as create a fantastic resource for those looking to do similar things. We hope you enjoy it all, and find ways to Get Back to the Real World!
